Boxing FAQs

Yes. This programme is designed to cater for complete beginners through to people who have experience. Either way, you will be matched according to your weight, progress and experience.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”What equipment will I need?”]

Comfortable training clothes, indoor trainers & a gum shield. Most participants choose to purchase their own gloves (16oz – you will not be able to spar with lighter gloves), head guard and groin guard. We will provide you with hand wraps.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Do I need to attend all sessions?”]

Ideally yes, although we realise this can be tough with work and family commitments. A minimum of 25 out of the 30 sessions.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Do you expect me to train outside of Train2fight sessions?”]

Yes. We encourage sprint intervals and strength & conditioning sessions outside – we are able to advise you on this. Boxing training without the coaches is discouraged as it can be counter-productive to your progress.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Is it OK to carry on lifting weights?”]

Certain resistance training work can complement your boxing training – we are able to advise you on this. For the duration of the camp you will need to avoid bodybuilding-type resistance work as it will be ineffective in helping you reach a suitable fighting weight and will slow down your hand speed.

All participants going through our programme will need to work with our coaches. This way we can ensure your progress and safety.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”How will I be matched with my opponent for Fight Night?”]

We have a number of gym contacts around the UK. We will be visiting participants on other similar programmes and watching individuals sparring. We will find you a match based on weight and ability.

We don’t like to confirm anything with participants until close to fight night – this is because the fight card is often being amended as of unforeseen circumstances.

No. You will be given a target weight that is achievable and you will be monitored throughout the programme.

Ideally yes. Although it is a personal preference. We would advise no alcohol for at least 1 month prior to fight night.

This depends on when in the programme you get injured. In most cases no refund will be offered but you will have the opportunity to join onto the next Train2fight camp.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Am I expected to sell tickets to the White Collar Boxing Show?”]

Yes. You are expected to sell at least 20 tickets.

As with all contact sports there are risks of injury. However, the coaches are experienced and will ensure you are kept as safe as possible through-out the camp and the fight.  Throughout the camp there will be a trained first aider.

On fight night, all fighters will be examined by a medic to ensure they are fight to fight. There will also be two medics, a doctor and an ambulance on site in the event of an accident.
